If you’re focusing on auditioning like I have been, I recommend having these items in your home studio or closet just to make things easier!
Prior to 2020, I did all I could to get in the door of casting offices for auditions. I appreciated the opportunities, then I would pray for a chance to self tape. I truly hated being bound to a location. I often didn’t mention I lived in Northern California, for fear it would oust me from the Los Angeles market as an actor.
Today’s world is so different! Although I am thrilled to be anywhere to send an audition, I have to be mindful of the quality to maintain a momentum with ongoing auditions.
In 2020 I constructed a studio in a shed in my backyard. I hosted my own YouTube Channel and then started using it for all my Zoom calls, audition room, and even subleted it to others for auditions. I bought all sort of equipment, such as lighting, mics and even a selfie stand with a light! Amazon was my friend. I think, he’s everyone’s bestie by now.
